Reed Property Group appoints new General Manager

With its flagship Development Division set to launch more than $1.5 billion worth of projects, Reed Property Group has announced the appointment of Carl Nancarrow as the General Manager of Development.

Carl’s executive appointment to this newly created position provides important momentum for the Queensland based company committed to expanding its property development interests throughout Australia.

The role of General Manager is pivotal to Reed Property Group’s strategic growth agenda and reflects the increasing level of maturity and professionalism in business operations within the Development Division.

Ken Reed, Managing Director of Reed Property Group, said Carl was the ideal selection for General Manager given the strengths of both his leadership qualities and development and construction expertise.

“Carl has an impressive professional pedigree with experience at both a national and international level and I am confident that he has the skills and the knowledge to drive the expansion of our business,” said Mr Reed.

“We originally recruited Carl in late 2007 as Project Director for a specific development but rapidly realised his potential to contribute to the company in an executive capacity.”

“This internal promotion has not only provided an exciting career opportunity for Carl but I also believe it’s an astute human resource investment by Reed Property Group,” said Mr Reed.

Carl will manage the Development Division which has been significantly enhanced to match not only the operational demands of a current property portfolio representing more than $1.5 billion worth of investment on the Sunshine Coast but also the strategic plans for national expansion.

As part of this major investment locally, Carl will oversee the planning, project management and, ultimately, the delivery of two signature projects within Maroochydore which will help shape the area’s future landscape in terms of residential, commercial and retail sectors.

At the gateway to the CBD, Reed Property Group is poised to commence the first stage of multiple developments within the master planned community of Sunshine Cove while in the heart of the city centre, design for the iconic revitalisation of The Big Top Shopping Centre is well underway.

Carl is delighted to return to the Sunshine Coast after a 12 year absence, given the new and exciting opportunities available for property development professionals in the region.

“There has been a perception that the large scale property development industry on the Sunshine Coast was very cyclical and lacked stability but the reality is that the region can now support top tier professionals without compromising on career development and salary,” said Carl.

“Historically, the Sunshine Coast has been a great exporter of young professionals to major capital cities but importing and, importantly, retaining local talent is increasingly vital to the future of this area.”

“Reed’s strategy for identifying and maximising development opportunities within and now beyond this region is also encouraging for long term career prospects,” said Carl.

"Reed Property Group has recently undertaken a recruitment drive for highly skilled development professionals with the expertise to plan, manage and deliver on major projects. Attracting high calibre applicants, the Development Division now boasts a team that combines leading edge design and project management with commercial acumen,” Carl concluded.
